The Night Circus makes some noise, placing in first in Amazon’s top 5 fantasy bestseller list for the week, and the detailed observer will notice reviews and interviews with author Erin Morgenstern popping up around the ‘webs. Fantasy Blogosphere: June 13, 2010

Brandon Sanderson is making the rounds, with The Way of Kings slated for release in August. He’s interviewed at The Dragon Page, Pat’s Fantasy Hotlist and Tor.com over the past few weeks, and The Way of Kings sounds like its going to be a great one. Also reviewed this week is Swords & Dark Magic, an anthology in the classic sword & sorcery genre featuring tales by newer authors like Steven Erickson, Scott Lynch, Joe Abercrombie, and many others you’ll recognize. We’ve found reviews of books by Jim Butcher, Tad Williams, Scott Lynch, Stephen King, and Guy Gavriel Kay among other reviews that hit the fantasy blogosphere recently. Wrapping up this week don’t miss the cover art that was recently released for Scott Lynch’s forthcoming The Republic of Thieves; its a beautiful cover for what is likely to be an equally beautiful novel.

Fantasy Blogosphere: December 13, 2009

Everyone is gearing up for the holidays, and this means two things: people are talking about the best books from 2009 (gift ideas!), and people are talking about the most anticipated books form 2010.

We start off with a healthy assortment of reviews, get into a pair of fantastic interviews (check out Rothfuss & Abercrombie – they’re downright hilarious), and top it off with some industry news, recaps of 2009 and outlooks for 2010. I should note that Pat over at Pat’s Fantasy Hotlist seems to be doing everything right this holiday season, hence the need to link to him four times. Great stuff.

Fantasy Blogosphere: October 4, 2009

Plenty of quality reviews this week, including reviews of both books in Karen Miller’s Kingmaker, Kingbreaker series.  I like to follow up my own reviews with reviews by others if possible, in order to give everyone a fair sampling of opinion.  In addition to a few great reviews, of course we’ve got episode 5 of The Guild, which has to be my favorite so far in season 3.  Pong? Frickin’ hilarious.

The fantasy blogosphere is buzzing this week, with quality review after review, including books by Ken Scholes, Brandon Sanderson, Lev Grossman and more.  This should give you plenty to do while you’re parked in front of the TV watching race for October baseball or week three NFL action.

And last but not least, I think its safe to call me a “Guildy” at this point.
