The biggest news of the week for me is definitely the first real action promos for the HBO Game of Thrones series. Its great to see Sean Bean and crew in action, I’m so pumped for this series! Also really excited to see that Sanderson has sold another Mistborn novel, definitely looking forward to seeing that series extended. Reviews this week of newer novels from some of my favorite authors: Joe Abercrombie, Tad Willians, Jim Butcher and more. And please don’t miss the hilarious xtranormal video on publishing. If you have anything you’d like to share here on FBN, feel free to create a group and post your thoughts.

Fantasy Blogosphere: November 29, 2010

A fairly calm week, as you would assume with the Thanksgiving holiday. Even with our bellies stuffed with turkey, a batch of interviews crossed the fantasy blogosphere, including chats with Brandon Sanderson, Michael Moorcock, Terry Brooks and others. Check out the Game of Thrones photos – I’m starting to get really excited. Although, I always pictured Tyrion with a roundish head; but hey, you can’t have everything, right?

Fantasy Blogosphere: November 22, 2010

A fantastic group of reviews this week, including Shadowmarch, Leviathan, and Nightchild, as well as interviews with Brandon Sanderson, Mercedes Lackey, and more. News on Peter V. Brett’s future novels, as well as a first look at the Game of Thrones HBO series. Cap it all off with a ridiculously awesome map of Westeros, and a trailer for a movie that could potentially rank as my favorite movie of all time.

Fantasy Blogosphere: November 8, 2010

The embargo on Towers of Midnight reviews has expired, and the reviews are pouring in. In addition to the onslaught of ToM reviews, interviews with Brandon Sanderson are popping up like hotcakes. I never really got on the Wheel of Time bandwagon after reading the first book in the series, but I am about 10% through The Way of Kings, so expect a review of Sanderson’s solo work sometime soon. Also check out the interview with Felicia Day, good stuff.

Fantasy Blogosphere: October 31, 2010

A fairly calm week in the fantasy blogosphere, with only one review of note crossing the wire. Naomi Novik swings by The Dragon Page, and R.A. Salvatore chats with Del Rey. Barnes & Noble released a full color, Android-based Nook this week, which will fill the slot between cheaper e-ink readers and the full-featured iPad starting at $500. The new Nook has a great price point, starting under $300 around $250. The Hobbit movie is officially staying in New Zealand, and check out the footage from the lead costume designer for the new HBO Game of Thrones series.
