Amazon’s Top 5 Fantasy Bestsellers, February 20, 2010

Breaking Dawn reaches fourteen weeks in the top 5, with Dead in the Family and The Time Traveler’s Wife both holding strong. Two new entries in the top 5 this week, both from the same author: Kim Harrison. She may be one to watch.

Is it just me, or are the books I’m reading or excited about reading not anywhere near the top 5? Jim Butcher, Robin Hobb, and Brandon Sanderson are all in the top 25, but the trends recently are overwhelmingly toward vampire and undead books. Show you who’s buying books right now. Amazon’s Top 5 Fantasy Bestsellers, February 6, 2010

Charlaine Harris continues a strong showing in the fantasy genre, with two books in the Amazon top 5 bestseller list. Breaking Dawn and Flirt also continue to sell well, and The Time Traveler’s Wife surfaces in the top 5 list after eight weeks of hovering somewhere below the top 5 mark.

Vampires continue to rule the Amazon top 5 fantasy bestseller list, with Flirt making its first appearance this week. Stephanie Meyer’s Breaking Dawn holds strong in the number two spot, and Charlaine Harris continues a strong showing in 2010 with two novels in the top 5 this week: Dead in the Family and Dead and Gone.

Amazon’s Top 5 Fantasy Bestsellers, January 9, 2010

After conquering the the night, vampires have set their sites on ruling another domain: the Amazon top 5 fantasy bestseller list. Stephanie Meyer accomplishes a landmark: three of the top five are books in her Twilight Saga. New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn are books two, three and four of the Twilight series, respectively. Round out the top 5 with two additional vampire books, and its looking like we’re starting off 2010 with a vampire invasion.

Once Bitten enjoys two weeks straight in the number one spot, while James Clemens’ Wit’ch Fire hits the five week mark. Breaking Dawn has been selling strong on Amazon since the release of the New Moon movie, and Charlaine Harris starts the year off as the first author with two books in the top five, with both Dead and Gone and Dead in the Family making the list this week.

Amazon’s Top 5 Fantasy Bestsellers, December 26, 2009

The Gathering Storm drops out of the top five for the holiday season, and is replaced by The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Kindle edition. Really cool that readers are still out purchasing this classic, but now in a new digital format. Also, the number one spot gets taken over by another vampire book, with a, shall we say, less than original title.

Everything holds strong from last week, giving Breaking Dawn six weeks straight in the top five, two of those spent in the number one slot. This marks the book’s return to the top 5, due to the popularity of New Moon, the new Twilight movie being released about six weeks ago.
