A Dance with Dragons teeters on the brink of release, and the fantasy blogosphere is flooding with reviews now that the embargo on reviews is lifted. Also this week, we found reviews of books by authors Patrick Rothfuss, Brandon Sanderson, Adrian Tchaikovsky and R. Scott Bakker, as well as an interview with Lev Grossman. Some cool fantasy art appeared this week as well, with the cover for the Game of Thrones dropping, and a really cool new map of Westeros. Photos from The Hobbit movie are starting to cross the blogosphere as well. Enough to get excited about yet?
Best Fantasy Books with an onslaught of reviews of some of my favorite books: The Lies of Locke Lamora, The Blade Itself, A Game of Thrones, and more. The reviews don’t stop there though, with reviews of books by Brent Weeks, China Mieville, Stephen King, R. Scott Bakker, Peter Orullian and more. Pat of Fantasy Hotlist posts part one of an interview of R. Scott Bakker. Rockin’.
Great interviews this week, including Tad Williams, Jasper Kent, Brent Weeks, Lev Grossman, Scott Westerfield and Peter V. Brett. We’ve also found a few creat reviews, including a review of Warbreaker by Brandon Sanderson, The Painted Man by Peter V. Brett, and more. Ever get frustrated when books don’t clearly indicate the order they’re published in or the series number on the cover? Check out FictFact. And as always, Guildy hilarity!
Whew! Seems like there’s a lot of people reading Brandon Sanderson and reviewing his work these days. I wonder if taking over the Wheel of Time series for Robert Jordan has anything to do with this popularity.
